Hawthorne Credit union offers low-cost auto loans  
 

Hawthorne Credit Union joins several credit unions to pledge $10 billion in low-cost auto financing to help members from the Midwest purchase General Motors vehicles. The plan is called "Invest in America," a news release posted on the Michigan Credit Union League's Web site said.
 

The program will run through June 30, said Sandy Brillowski, director of marketing for Naperville-based Hawthorne Credit Union. Members who buy cars under the program also are eligible for $250 in bonus cash through Monday

Workshop aims to help job hunters

Rob Sullivan, a Chicago-based author, motivational speaker, career coach and corporate trainer, will present "Packaging Your Potential: Lessons from a Job Hunter Who Learned the Hard Way" from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Krasa Center presentation room on the campus of Benedictine University in Lisle.

The event begins with a light dinner at 6 p.m. and the presentation follows at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
