COLD WEATHER CAN'T CHILL ENTHUSIASM FOR HAWTHORNE CU "SHRED IT DAY"  
 

(Bolingbrook, IL February 11, 2008) While the snow piled up across Chicagoland in early-February, Hawthorne Credit Union members visited the member-owned financial cooperative's Bolingbrook branch at 267 South Weber Road to securely get rid of mountains of unwanted personal papers thanks to a free "Shred It Day."

"Everyone who braved the cold to attend our first Shred-It Day of 2008 was very happy and appreciative that Hawthorne Credit Union is providing free and secure document shredding to the community several times a year," said the Naperville-based eCommerce Manager Mary Jones. "A lot of people who brought in boxes of personal documents said they will be at one of our future on-site shredding events after they file their tax returns."

Hawthorne Credit Union's next free Shred It Day will be on March 1st at their Naperville branch (1519 N. Naper Blvd.) and will be held in conjunction with a free Retirement Seminar that is open to the community.

 		  

Hawthorne Credit Union's Bolingbrook Branch Manager Emily Janus welcomes members to securely dispose of unwanted documents at the February 2 Shred It Day & ID Theft seminar.

The financial institution welcomes consumers to bring in up to three banker's-size boxes of unwanted personal documents, such as old bank statements, cancelled checks, old tax documents, and other materials containing sensitive information.
