Saving More with Hawthorne’s Family Rewards
Hawthorne presents Family Rewards, a program designed to reward you and your family for turning to Hawthorne Credit Union for your financial needs. Because we’re a cooperative financial institution, the more our members turn to the credit union for their financial services, the more the entire credit union grows and its members benefit. Therefore, the more you and your family use the credit union, the more we can reward you with free or discounted services, and even loan discounts and bonus rates on certificates.
Here’s How It Works
Family Rewards is a four-step plan that can benefit all our members, whether you’re a borrower or a saver. Each month, we’ll add your Hawthorne loan and credit card balances to your deposit account balances for one combined balance. This balance determines the Family Rewards Step that you’re on. As you borrow and save at the credit union more and more, you climb the Steps, your rewards increase, and the entire credit union grows! We’ll adjust your Step monthly, if necessary, and notify you which Step you’re on with a note on your statement.
All In the Family
Not only do your account balances at Hawthorne qualify you for rewards, but your family members can choose to group their accounts together, too. Then, everyone in your Family Group will qualify for a higher Step and more rewards. For example, you can add the balance in your kids’ accounts and your spouse’s loan to your balances for a family total. Check out our fictional family as an example:

Stepping Up To Savings

At Step One you’ll receive the affordable services that you’ve come to expect from Hawthorne, including many free services. But, by transferring other accounts to Hawthorne or by grouping together with family members, you may easily attain combined loan and deposit balances of $5,000 and qualify for Step Two.

At Step Two you’ll save an additional 25% on many of our most popular services.

As your Family Group’s deposit and loan balances grow to $20,000 or more, you’ll receive Step Three rewards and a 50% discount on services.

At Step Four, with $40,000 or more in combined balances, virtually all services are free! Plus, you’re rewarded with discounts on loan rates and bonuses on certificate rates.

Reaping the Rewards
The Brady family, our fictional example above, is on Step Four. That means
that 18-year-old Jan gets a discount on her first auto loan, which makes
her monthly payment more affordable. Grandma Brady opens a certificate and
gets a bonus rate. And 13-year-old Bobby uses the ATM at the arcade and
pays no fees. Mr. Brady enjoys free BillPayer to pay the family’s bills.
Climbing the Steps is Easy
You can increase your rewards in two ways.
1) Move other financial services to Hawthorne. We can probably offer you a better rate and qualify you for a higher Step. Here are some examples to start you thinking:
a. Do you have an auto loan, RV or boat loan? Refinance it at Hawthorne.
b. Do you have certificates, IRAs or a money market account elsewhere? Transfer your deposit accounts to Hawthorne.
c. Start direct deposit or payroll deduction into your Hawthorne Checking or Savings account. You’ll be surprised how quickly your balance rises.
d. Move your home equity loan to Hawthorne. We offer great rates on home equity loans and lines of credit.
2) Invite a relative to join Hawthorne and form a Family Group. Everyone benefits from the savings! Send us an email with your family members name and address, or email address, and we will send them information on the family rewards program.
Your Privacy
is Protected
Your privacy is of great concern to us. We will not share your account
information with anyone who is not an owner of your account. Your account
balances will never be displayed the way the Brady’s is above. However, if
you choose to group your family accounts together, your family members may deduce your balance based on the group’s Step. That is why forming
or joining a Family Group is optional and requires your signature. You can

To form a Family Group, print and complete
our Authorization Form and return it to the credit union.
