Hawthorne Credit Union's Visa Check Card allows you access to your checking account without having to write a check - at millions of locations worldwide and online.  And it's your ATM card too.

When you open a checking account at Hawthorne you may be eligible to receive your Visa Check Card. You'll want to carry your check card instead of your checkbook, because you'll use your check card instead of writing a check to pay for your purchases. The card is accepted at over 11 million locations worldwide. If you're ever having trouble getting cash with your check card, you can always go to any bank and obtain a cash advance.

It's a better way to keep track of your purchases. Your monthly statement will show a detailed description of every check card purchase you make. That way you'll manage your money better, because you'll know how you're spending it.

You get 6 free PIN transactions with your Visa Check Card each month. As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we want our members to know that the credit union incurs a cost when you use your PIN but not when you sign for your purchases. When you help us control costs, we can return the savings to you in other ways.  

All PIN transactions (this includes ATM and PIN-purchases) count toward your 6 free transactions each month. A $1 fee will be accessed for each PIN transaction over 6. (This fee can be discounted or waived ENTIRELY with our  Family Rewards  program. Signature transactions will be free and unlimited). 

Tell the store's cashier that you want to sign for your purchase, even if you are asked for your PIN. Save your PIN for when you need cash.
