Bilingual Member Service Representative
Hawthorne Credit Union located in Naperville, Illinois is looking for a full-time Bilingual Retail Personal Banker. The Retail Personal Banker is responsible for identifying member needs and selling credit union products and services to members for new business development. Works with members to research and resolve account related inquiries. This is an entry level position.
The Retail Personal Banker services new and existing members' financial needs through the sale of loans, deposit accounts, mortgage referrals and other Hawthorne services. Insures member satisfaction. Expands multiple account relationships to promote the financial health of the credit union. Proficient in opening and maintaining commercial deposit accounts and processing commercial loan applications. Assist in opening and closing of the branch. Assists manager with staff training and balancing. Assumes responsibility for smooth operation of department in the absence of the manager. Requires an optimistic approach to business and positive attitude on a daily basis. Present themselves in a professional manner at all times, working knowledge of products and services, and the ability to adapt to changing situations.
Skills/Qualifications
- Bilingual Required (Spanish)
- Cash handling experience
- Retail sales experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience equivalent to a BA acceptable
- Courses related to banking and finance would be valuable
- Must have working knowledge of the Operations and Lending departments
- Above average human relations and communication skills
- Must be able to cope with pressure resulting from meeting deadlines, attaining goals, and dealing with member problems.
- Full knowledge of all products and services and economic conditions/factors in order to assist members with decisions.
- Must be flexible in scheduling, available to open and close and have Monday through Saturday availability.
Other relevant experience and knowledge in the following areas is also a plus:
- Experience in banking preferred but not required
- Dealing with the public, service orientation, our payroll system, our loan products and processes
- A pleasant and approachable disposition
- Demonstrated computer skills, specifically keyboarding
- Mathematical aptitudes of percentages, finance charges, and interest computations
- Above average written and oral communication skills
